15 Books That Will Stay With Me

I'm a big fan of Facebook memes, and consider them to be great scrapbooking fodder. (I actually have printed the 25 Things meme from several friends, added a photo and placed it in the Friends section of our People We Love section of our Library of Memories.) I recently saw one asking for a list of 15 books that will always stick with you. You're supposed to make the list in 15 minutes. This was harder than I thought because I had to narrow my favorites down!

In no particular order:

1. To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
2. Little Women - Louisa May Alcott
3. The Bean Trees - Barbara Kingsolver
4. The House of the Spirits - Isabel Allende
5. Paula - Isabel Allende
6. The Secret Garden - Frances Hodgson Burnett
7. The Summer of My German Soldier - Bette Green
8. Don't Call Me Katie Rose - LM Weber
9. The Secret Life of Bees - Sue Monk Kidd
10. The Big Picture by Stacy Julian
11. The Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follett
12. East of Eden - John Steinbeck
13. The Wheel of Time series - Robert Jordan
14. Harry Potter series - JK Rowling
15. Animal, Vegetable, Miracle - Barbara Kingsolver

After rereading the list, I'm disappointed to note that I forgot to include Silas House anywhere on my list. I'm sure I'll notice that I'm missing more books over time. I read most of the books in high school, or college, or even earlier. I felt that if they were supposed to "stick" with me, then they needed to have passed a test of time. What's YOUR list of 15? Have you read and enjoyed any of my favorites?
