I'm not only getting ideas for art I would like to buy for my home, but ideas for my own art to make for my home. Etsy is great for inspiration.
I believe I started on this journey because of a post of Soulemama's about Nikki McClure's art that she has on her walls. I searched Buy Olympia for all of McClure's art and then started searching etsy for similar subjects.
These are some of the prints that caught my eye.
- Book Titles Poster - This poster lists a bunch of children's book titles in various fonts, and you can choose the background color. I thought this would be fun to do myself with some of my favorite titles.
- I Will Help You Grow - This print of a mother snuggling her child is very touching. It is stylized, but I like the look and the colors.
- There's No Place Like Home - This one is really inspiring. My daughter has shoes very similar to this, and now I want to dress her up like Dorothy and take pictures.
- Love of Books, Reading, and When I Read a Book - All of these are by the same artist as Home (alifethroughthelens). I love the stacks of books as art. I'm just not sure I agree with all the titles (I wouldn't hang art with Ayn Rand featured, personally).
- Whimsical Laundry Day - I love the colors, I love the baby in the buggy, I love that the mama is wearing a cute dress. I love that this is art about a clothesline!
- Keep 'Em Flying - They had me at "chickens." Really. This is from Victory Garden of Tomorrow. I have several I want from here. I'm also a fan of Eat Real Food, Compost, and Recycling is Reusing.
That's probably more than enough for now! I hope you enjoyed looking at these as much as I do.

Thank you for this post. You really inspired me!
Hi dear,
Thanks for stopping by. Glad you got the Country Gardens magazine. It is a great mag. The shed was totally designed by my hubby and used lots and lots of repurposed things from the ReStore, which is a GREAT resource.
All girls need a little shed.
Love to you,
