This week's recipe article is about a Mardi Gras themed party. You can read the article here: Partying Mardi Gras Style.
The recipe for the Mardi Gras King Cake that Angie Leonard (featured in the article) made is on the Taste of Home website.
Angie also shared the following recipes with me. She didn't use them herself but found them while doing research on the theme.
Bourbon Street Lemonade
1 12 ounce can frozen lemonade
1 cup bourbon
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
12 liter bottle of gingerale
garnish with lemon slices
Big Easy King Cake
4 12.4 ounce cans of refrigerator cinnamon rolls
1 8 ounce package of cream cheese
gold, green, and purple sanding sugars
Preheat oven to 360. Spray oval baking dish with cooking spray.
Place cinnamon rolls side by side, cut sides together, in an oval. Gently press rolls so seams are sealed together.
Bake 25-30 minutes.
Combine the icing that came in the packages with the cream cheese. Beat together until smooth.
Ice cake, and decorate with sanding sugars.
