It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

I am reading a very intense book right now, so it's really the only book I've read. I'm still working on it, and hope to write a full review/discussion soon (although I seem to never get around doing those anymore).

  • Radical Homemakers by Shannon Hayes - I feel like I've been reading this for weeks at this point. It's a very interesting and engaging book. It is in 2 sections, and the first section is all theory. Now that I'm past that section, the reading seems to be going a little quicker. It's not that the reading is difficult. It's just that there is a lot to think about. I think it's cool that I'm reading a book with the word "homemakers" in the title and that it's very intellectually stimulating.
  • Serenity: Those Left Behind - This is a graphic novel based on the tv show Firefly. I bought this when it came out originally, but reread it over the weekend after attending Free Comic Book Day. I'll write more about this later, but I saw a display of Joss Whedon comic books, felt the need to come home and reread this (and watch the show).

I purchased:
  • Serenity: The Shepherd Tale - I ended up skipping the 2nd graphic novel in the series for now, but really wanted to read this graphic novel about Shepherd Book (more about this later too).
I am considering adding in other things that I read during the week, not just books (blogs, magazine, etc). I'm not sure if that is in keeping with the meme or not.

What did you read this week?

This post is part of the meme It's Monday! What Are You Reading? hosted by Book Journey.

I am a member of Amazon Affiliates, which means that if you click on one of the above book links and make a purchase at Amazon, I will receive a small percentage (which costs you nothing extra). Thank you for supporting this blog.

PS. I am looking forward to reading some unread advanced readers copies left over from my days as a bookseller that are still on my bookshelf. These are almost all adult novels (not picture books or YA). Would anyone be interested in a giveaway with some of these books when it is time for them to move on? Let me know in the comments! If there is a good response, then I'll get that set up.

I'm not sure I could cope with challenging homemaking!

It's hard to explain. It's not the homemaking that's challenging so much as the books gives me a lot to think about. I hope you'll check out the review of the book when I'm finished!
