- Radical Homemakers
by Shannon Hayes - I finally finished this book. It took almost the entire 3 weeks that I was allowed by our library system. I believe I will need to check it out again or buy it to be able to discuss it fully. I regretted that I was not able to take notes in the margins!
- Serenity: Float Out
- Written by comedian Patton Oswalt (who seems to be fashioning himself as the geek's answer to James Franco), this one-shot comic tells some back story on a favorite character from Firefly - Wash. (For those of you who are sick of my talk of comic books in general and Firefly in particular, I apologize. I'm trying to restrain myself.)
Books I purchased:
- Clay's Quilt
by Silas House - I found the hardcover at Half-Price Books (used bookstore chain) and couldn't help myself. I like having hardcovers of my favorite novels because of durability.
- The Coal Tattoo
by Silas House - Ditto.
Books I'm looking forward to reading (lent to me by my friend, Heather):
- A Discovery of Witches
by Deborah Harkness - This has been on my Nook wishlist for months. I'm thrilled to have a copy in my hands.
- Awakened
by PC Cast and Kristin Cast - Heather and another friend insisted I read the House of Night series last spring. I can almost forgive them for making me read Twilight after reading this. I read the entire series last spring within a few weeks. I can't believe I've waited this long to read the latest in the series (it came out in January).
- Red Riding Hood
by Sarah Blakley-Cartwright - novelization of the movie. Highly recommended by Heather.
Free Nook book this week:
- Four Corners of the Sky
by Michael Malone
